Ingredients: Organic Arborio rice, organic onion, organic mushrooms, umami mushroom seasoning blend (organic onion, organic yellow mustard, organic porcini mushrooms, organic shiitake mushrooms, organic nutritional yeast, organic garlic, organic crushed red pepper, organic thyme, organic black pepper), Mediterranean herb seasoning blend (organic black pepper, organic crushed red pepper, organic garlic, organic basil, organic oregano, organic parsley, organic rosemary).
YOU WILL NEED (4 SERVINGS):
- 8 ounces ground hot or mild Italian sausage
- 4½ cups hot water
- ¼-½ teaspoon sea salt, optional
- ¼ cup grated pecorino or Parmesan cheese, optional
- 2 tablespoons cold butter, optional
DIRECTIONS:
- In Dutch oven or large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook and crumble sausage until nicely browned and no longer pink.
- Add contents of package to pan. Sauté 1 minute.
- Slowly stir in water and salt, if desired. Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, until liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Stir in cheese and butter, if desired. Makes 4 servings.
