Simple to make and perfect as the main protein or to use as an ingredient in pulled pork sandwiches, carnitas tacos, Cuban sandwiches, pastas and so much more.
Ingredients
-
1 (4-5 pound) bone-in pork butt roast, fat trimmed
-
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
-
2 tablespoons honey
-
2 tablespoons Everyday Seasoning Blend
-
3 tablespoons All-American BBQ Seasoning Blend
-
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
-
¼ cup water
Directions
Pat roast dry with clean paper towels.
In small bowl, combine mustard and honey. Rub all over roast. Sprinkle roast with Everyday Seasoning Blend and then All-American BBQ Seasoning Blend. Let rest while smoker preheats.
Prepare smoker to 275°F using a mild flavored wood. Combine vinegar and water in a clean spray bottle; set aside.
When smoker reaches temperature, place roast on smoker. Smoke until internal temperature reaches 200-205°F on an instant-read food thermometer, about 6-8 hours, misting with vinegar water every hour.
Carefully remove pork from smoker and pull apart into desired size pieces.
Notes
Recipe was tested on a Recteq smoker with a mixture of hickory and oak.
