Rice simmered with Sazón Seasoning Blend,
onions, chicken bone broth and black beans. Can easily substitute vegetable
stock for a vegan option.
Ingredients

1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-
1 cup chopped onions
-
1 tablespoon Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend

½ teaspoon sea salt, divided, optional

1 cup long grain white rice
-
1 tablespoon Sazón Seasoning Blend

2½ cups unsalted chicken bone broth or vegetable stock

1 cup no salt added black beans, rinsed and drained
-
Chopped tomatoes, chopped fresh parsley, optional
Directions
In large saucepan, heat Extra Virgin Olive Oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend and ¼ teaspoon salt. Sauté 3-4 minutes.
Stir in rice and Sazón Seasoning Blend. Sauté 1 minute. Stir in broth, beans and remaining ¼ teaspoon salt, if desired. Bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 15-20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Garnish with tomatoes and parsley, if desired.
