This vegan creamy mushroom gravy is insanely good. Seasoned with Peppery Sage Seasoning Blend, it tastes just like breakfast sausage and you’ll never know the creamy gravy is completely vegan! Perfect for serving over biscuits, mashed potatoes or pasta…even chicken if you’re just dairy and gluten-free.
Ingredients

1½ tablespoons plant-based butter

1 (5 ounce) package sliced shiitake mushrooms

1 tablespoon Peppery Sage Seasoning Blend, divided

¼ teaspoon sea salt, divided, optional

2 tablespoons garbanzo bean flour or all-purpose flour of choice

1 cup unsalted vegetable broth

½ cup plant-based heavy whipping cream alternative or non-dairy milk of choice
Directions
In large skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat. When melted, add mushrooms, 1½ teaspoons Peppery Sage Seasoning Blend and sea salt, if desired. Sauté, breaking up mushrooms into desired “sausage”-sized pieces, until nicely browned, about 6-8 minutes.
Stir in flour; cook 30-60 seconds. Stir in broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until thickened.
Stir in whipping cream and remaining 1½ teaspoons Peppery Sage Seasoning Blend; salt as desired. Simmer, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened or desired consistency, about 1-2 minutes.
