No need for brining or curing, this simple version of smoked fish is perfect for dinner, using on a charcuterie board, topping bagels and cream cheese with a sprinkle of our Super Seed Everything Seasoning Blend or using to make your own smoked fish dip.
Ingredients
-
8 ounces salmon or mahi mahi fillets, skin removed
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-
2 teaspoons Everyday Seasoning Blend
-
⅛ teaspoon sea salt, optional
Directions
Prepare smoker to 225°F using a mild flavored wood. Place a mesh grill screen on smoker (use aluminum foil if you don’t have a mesh screen).
Pat fish dry with clean paper towels. Spread both sides of fish with mustard, then sprinkle with Everyday Seasoning Blend and salt, if desired.
Place fillets on grill screen or foil. Smoke until internal temperature reaches 140°F on an instant-read food thermometer, about 1½-2 hours depending on the thickness of your fish.
Notes
Recipe was tested on a Recteq smoker with a mixture of hickory and oak. Fish was just under 1-inch thick.
